Its a bad arguement. The rules are dramatically different for us.
Note how obama had to be the most perfect Harvard black man to get in the same spot as trump. And they were digging for dirt for 9 straight years and got nothing on that man. They had to make up something about his birth certificate or make fun of his tan suits because nothing would stick on his squeaky clean persona and presentation.
Or turn your attention to the opposite presentation in Hershell Walker who attempted to run the exact same type of campaign as Trump, and for the same party but got nothing for it as the slew of scandals burried him
