i would be pissed if some young ass 18 year old drummer persuaded my daughter whose an upperclasswoman already to scrap her well-planned major and pursue dancing, all because that's where her "heart" is. plus her parents paying out of pocket, i dont blame them for not wanting to pay for that worthless degree. at least 3 extra semesters because of this decision .

all this for a general studies freshman who plays the drums but cant even read music.

i would feel as i failed as a father.

sociology and history (my major) are what i call intro degrees, that require further degrees to be useful. plus, if all else fails, you can be a teacher in those fields with a little bit of effort.

I mean after while he would've still kept his scholarship after classes were paid, it just wouldn't have gotten renewed for the next semester. I've seen this happen to my friend He was so depressed.

i didn't have a solid plan until earlier this year. still, do what you want to do when you're younger if you can. a lot of old heads have told me this. there a things you can't do when you're old. and i'm just poking fun but people that feel like this are normally conservatives . all of these things are way easier said than done but being sold as "get schooled and you'll have a job. just go ahead and start a business!". it's not the degree that gets you the job. it's in large part what you do while you're getting that degree.

Why should they eliminate them? If you don't think they're worthwhile, then major in whatever it is YOU want. Let these nikkas cook. If you're good at your job and dedicated to it, you will find a customer/client base no matter what you're doing
