Better then the 1st no. But does it contain elements of the 1st one (humor and violence) that makes it's worth seeing yes.

Basic plot: Hit-Girl is being raised by Morris Chestnut who now is her guardian. He's real overprotective of her. So much so that he doesn't allow her to be Hit-Girl. USing her father death as an excuse. So she leaves the game and become a teenager: Liking boy, change of dress, etc.

Meanwhile Kick-Ass meets the Black dude from Scrubs who is a superhero as well. And in turn meets Jim Carey character. He sorta put together a low budget Avengers team and they protect the city.

Mclovin, dealing with his pops death. Begins being a boss and starts to reign terror on the city. He puts together his own version of Avengers full of bad guys. 1 in particular stands out: Mother Russia. This chick as a beast which you'll see if you watch it.

Action wise it's s just as violent as the 1st. Sorta like Kill Bill at times but not as bloody. Last scenes reminds me of the the fight in the street with TDKR. Humor wise it's funny though Hit-Girl hardly uses the c-word.

Problem with the film is it takes itself too serious at time. I'm cool with Hit-Girl character growing into a teen girl. But they get into her character development too much. I wanna see more brainless action then the character development they tried to do with her. If you can do it like Nolan did with TDKR., then fine I bought it with that. But with this film, they take too far. They got too serious, philosophy at times of this being "real life and not comic book" Some of the characters are useless as well (i.e. this married superhero couple). But again, it has some elements of the 1st. But they just went too far with the "Spiderman-esque" moral message. When it could have been focused on more action

does it end with a cliffhanger like in the comics?
nope, pretty straight forward

If you wanna know

Hit-Girl kisses Kick-Ass. Tells him she has to leave town b/c she can't live with Morris Chestnut. She doesn't want to worry him to death knowing how dangerous being Hit-Girl is. Then she rides off in the sunset on her bike. Then Kick-Ass gives some speech about we're all to be hero. Blah, blah, blah.

Wow, just read a summary of the comic book. That ending is way better. With the movie ending, they're more focused on getting a message across. And the way it comes off, it's makes it seem like it's the last film. Shoulda stuck with the comic ending, imo. But I'll let yall decide.
