Half-way done with season 1. It's a good show, but so far it's nothing special. I hope it lives up to the hype; I don't want to be disappointed.

Deadwood was boring as hell compared to Rome. Just start watching Rome and you will be MUCH more entertained. That i promise.

season 1 was ok, the last few episodes pick up and the finale is , 2 and 3 were piff

Deadwood has some of the best dialogue and characters ever. Al Sweargen in my opinion is the greatest TV character ever. I put him above Walter White and a smidgen ahead of Tony Soprano. Deadwood also has great themes and all their characters are complex. It's one of the best ensemble cast, slightly behind The Wire. It's a top 5 series. Unfortunately it didn't get a proper ending so it can't be THE GOAT series. But it is in the discussion.

I've got the series on Blu-ray but haven't found the time to dedicate to it yet, same goes for Rome. I might put the work in on Deadwood to start the new year.
