I think it's both, breh, because Hassan has been playing starter minutes even off the bench. But when he comes in, he gets more touches and he's pretty much the 2nd option on offense (Third if they do us like the Celtics did and pack the paint).
Hassan has been looking a lot better lately, mostly his motor.
but he comes in after 5 minutes and stays in the rest of the half. he still plays with the starters a good portion of the game. when he's with the starters he's still getting touches and putting up monster numbers. it's all about the new offense and him getting more opportunities. the team actually HAS to look for him now with bosh out. dragic never looked for dude like this early in the season. he mighta had one lob to him the entire first half of the year now he gets like 2 a game. they're actually running plays for him and allowing him to create for himself.
this proves what all the hassan supporters been saying from the start. give him the ball and let him work....stop freezing him out of the offense, get him touches and see what happens. and you're right....dude has been playing with more energy, but he's also gotten better and improved his game too. his free throw shooting and mid range has been on point lately....and his passing and decision making has improved. so it's a combination of things....from getting more touches, to the new offense, to him just simply getting better. I don't think sitting those first 5 minutes is really making a difference...cause like I said, he's still doing it with the starters in the game.
skolnick is just trying to justify bringing a top 3 center off the bench because he's on spo's dikk. hassan on the bench almost cost us the pacers game and it arguably cost us the celtics game when they went on that run out of halftime. we gotta have our best guys out there from the jump. don't give the opposing teams any chance to build momentum
