Just Watched That Movie "Stoker"....

It's by Park Chan-wook, the director of "Oldboy", "Lady Vengeance", "Thirst", etc.

Anyway, I thought it was incredible. It's one of those movies where it seems it's going one way, then it turns into something else.

If you peep it I suggest Blu-Ray or an HD format. Damn near every scene is from a cinematographic standpoint. If you're a fan of cinematography that alone will get your attention.

I thought the cinematography alone was enough to elevate is above being merely "good".

Decent movie. I'll watch any thriller/suspense/mystery movie and even though the direction and imagery was piff, the overall concept didn't have that bite that you usually get from great movies.

Incredible

It had great cinematography but the plot completely lost it's shyt in the second half.

Utterly ridiculous and made no sense.

Still fairly enjoyable but it's more style over substance.

If you liked it you should check Hitchock's Shadow of Doubt which was definitely the film's biggest inspiration.

just watched this again as i watched the handmaiden earlier this week

my opinion of it has definitely improved. i thought it was pretty good. cinematography was gorgeous as always. performances were pretty good. some details i caught this time that i didn't catch the first time that made it much better to me. still aint touching the handmaiden though
