Just watched "Us" on bootleg ...good movie, with one major flaw(no spoilers)

(NO SPOILERS ARE IN THE OP)​

• First off, yes I'm going to go support the movie(and I think it's worth supporting) this weekend with actual cash.
• Secondly I think it's an overall good movie that fits in with "Get out" thematically fairly well in terms of "social horror".

The 1 big flaw
The movies "murder logic"(for lack of a better term) is fukk'n ridiculous at several points. Multiple times I was like
At one point folks would get murked on site ...then the next min they are playing convoluted games and shyt with people and for no apparent reason.
It feels like several times Jordan peel went...

• [...Ohhh, cool idea goes here...]

...then shoot "cool idea" irrespective of it making sense within the larger narrative of the movie.



Now there are ways I could see why the movie played out the way it did, that would also make sense narratively ...but the movie never stated those things explicitly. As a result it would end up being "fan faction" / "head cannon" to make things "logical" to me. On a lesser note the ultimate goal of the "villains" was also very ...but I'll let that one go.



In the final analysis; the idea of the movie ...I like It's just that the narrative logic in how they went about executing that idea is kinda wonky.

Only batman himself has better plot armor

I don't know if it was intentional or not ...but Jordan peel successfully subverted the "stupid protagonist" trope so much, he made me actually yell at the "movie monster" for once instead. Because dem MF's just kept making dumb illogical moves in regards to killing(or whatever da fukk they were trying to do) the family.

Just came back....loved it. Simply a different kind of movie without the preconceived notion of what & how black folks should move & act in certain circumstances.

The family was cool "Ian got no problem wit dem"
Now the movie's "monsters" on the other hand where inconsistent as hell ...one minute they stab you on the spot ...the next min we playing hide & seek games and shyt.

To restate my position, the overall movie I liked. I just didn't like the "murder logic" (for lack of a better word)
