Bears got an elite player, but it was worth it for the Raiders as a team. They weren't going to be a contender with Mack, especially with the cap space he'd take up.

Whether people like this fact or not, teams with defensive players that take up similar cap room to not typically win it all..

Anything can happen, and I'm not criticizing the Bears, but the trade made sense for the Raiders. Lots of "IF's" then, now, and in the future. However, I think long term it was the right move.

Ehh i wouldnt say the bears lost. You cant blame mack or his salary for any of the bears issues. Their issue is they have the worst qb in the league.
As for the Raiders it all depends on how Ferrell turns out and the next guy they draft turnsout who are going to create pressure. They're still in the bottom half of the league when it comes to that.

It's a win for the bears and still to be determined for the Raiders. Jacobs ballin but if the raiders still looking for a pass rush in 2-3 years then its a loss for them

in this era of crazy high priced free agents it still comes down to the draft to build a solid team. u cant flatout buy ur way to a SB through FA word to the redskins owner.

Bears didn't lose the trade....like everyone is saying, they fukkd up with that Trubisky pick. With a halfway decent QB they coulda made the SB last year(hell they almost did despite bytch) be perennial playoff squad

You have to have the brains as management to understand that NO defensive player is worth those picks AND contract. It was beyond obvious to some of us..

You can't separate the management decisions from the trade in this situation. You KNOW that using that much cap space and draft capital on one DEFENSIVE player never pays off. Only a QB is worth that compensation.
