Her political career is over even though she had another 20 years left. She could've stayed on as as Senator and make a bid for 2028. Or at least go through an open primary and eventually win the democratic ticket some point down the line.

Biden handed her a poisoned chalice by refusing to pull out out a year ago. Don't get me wrong, she was a bad candidate and ran a terrible campaign and she had to make up an unnecessary amount of lost ground.

Assuming the VP is Klobuchar or Whitmer they were not beating Trump either.
