Polls have long shown that voters overwhelmingly support protecting abortions rights. But the win for the "no" vote in Kansas is proof of that and signals that the Supreme Court decision has further angered voters and possibly shifted the politics of the issue ahead of the November elections.

The "no" leaves the state constitution unchanged. While lawmakers in the state can still try to pass restrictive abortion laws, courts in Kansas have recognized a right to abortion under the state constitution.

The biggest warning to Republicans, many of whom have trumpeted the overturning of Roe and backed pushes to pass stricter abortions laws, is perhaps the turnout in Kansas. With 78% of the vote in on Tuesday night, nearly 700,000 people have cast ballots in the primary, a figure that already dwarfs the turnout in the 2020 presidential primary election.

Try to make your opinion the law, Republibrehs

Facts are the majority (a large one) supports freedom. even old school republicans are about small government. Overturning roe v wade was a massive overreach

And if the democrats don't focus on abortion but focus on "government overreach and taking rights away" they will dominate.

What's next? slavery?

I would go there because there are elected republican officials you can quote saying stupid shyt and dumb ass Clarence saying he wants to review other settled laws.
White folks understand that there is a limit to racism and eventually the hands of oppression will be turned their way.

It's one thing to be against affordable housing. It's another thing to take houses from black people. They gonna be like, "wait, does that mean you can take my shyt too if you feel like it."

Republicans be like "oh no, we would never do that." and they like, the fukk you wont you crazy fukks.

They rolled the dice with abortion for sure. Had I been a head honcho I would have viewed it as too risky. They should have tried to get on this horse after midterms. It might buck them pre midterms. They'll still eke out some significant wins, regardless.

I'd be more concerned about political fallout from that school shooting in Texas. I'll never understand why Republicans sat on their hands before becoming vocal about that. Probably some blue lives matter bs. They're dumping Trump and running this abortion bs pre midterms. Risky risky.

But.....fukk em.

You call it risky but be real: what platform do Republicans have?

"Say no to Democrats."

They can literally do that and they get votes because they know Dems get punished for "not doing anything". They took this hail mary to reorient the party in the wake of Trump fukkery and get a win in something the party has been trying to do for 50 years. If we being real, this probably seemed like a surer thing than say repealing the ACA as religious loons take abortions to heart. Unfortunately the dog caught the car and now they have to go 100% on the platform. This isn't one of those things they could have rushed after the midterms and not expected to get washed later, but that is assuming they would win enough seats to get right. This was supposed to a cultural win and times have changed.
