early in his career, Kanye called Mase his favorite rapper.
For what it’s worth he’s done that with a few people only to diss them later (Jay, Nas, Talib, Puff, etc). The only one of Ye’s rap heroes I’ve never seen him go at sideways is Q-Tip.
