Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac on Monday, August 1, the “Famous” rapper, 39, recalled the time in September 2015 when he stated at the MTV Video Music Awards that he would be running for president in 2020.
Explaining that he doesn’t have strong feelings about politics, the hip-hop star insisted that he has "a view on humanity, on people, on the truth."

"If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I'm alive,” West told Mac, “I'm going to try to do it."
The Grammy winner also touched on the recent police shootings of black people in America, such as Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Alton Sterling and Falcon Heights, Minnesota’s Philando Castile, among many others.
