And has been since the beginning of his career :yeshrug: Not an ounce of fraud in any of his music or a ficad he puts on for certain audiences. Even though some of you don't like them, "New Slaves" and "Black Skinheads" are songs that only Kanye would make and is allowed to make in 2013, on a mainstream level. He's making songs and touching on subjects that not a lot of people are doing or saying, and on a stage like SNL and the Met Gala, even now 9 years into his career.

People always wanna throw shade at rappers for fronting about a lifestyle but the minute someone real keeps it genuine while representing for hip-hop, people talk down :wtf:

nothing genuine about it. All his rants are about HIM not receiving this award or recognition. He could careless about the black youth or anything like that. he's the artist touching on these topics cause in the mainstream cause its 2013 and most rapper's fanbase' are white. What's the point? especially when you just gon put Cheef Keif on a track and push the message the white execs tryna push anyway. its corny and transparent. and then he wants to talk about rich nikka racism as if he isnt a culprit, as if he didnt shout out all these white/euro fashion designers in his verses the past few years. and then the fact that maybe he isnt educated enough to rap about this shyt. it shows when he says stuff like this, remembember this is the same cat working with Cheef Kief

Meanwhile the DEA
Teamed up with the CCA
They tryna lock nikkas up
They tryna make new slaves

getting locked up and possibly given a harsher sentence due to corruption doesnt equate to being a new slave. the non-criminal black man can easily live a free enjoyable life in 2013. Years and years ago that wasnt possible, so I dont see the connection.

we are all "culprits" in some form or another. you choose to listen to and digest the same music that promotes these lifestyles. you are a consumer. he is a consumer. we're all raised to be consumers.

he made an observation about the prision industrial complex and put it on a first single. that's good. i like where this is going. you can't stop him from making an observation because you disagree with some other shyt he's said.

is he wrong?

Exactly, nikkas is forgetting that Kanye is a human being too. Of course there are gonna be inconsistencies and contradictions. What human being doesnt?

:usure: I would rather a rapper rant about not receiving rightful recognition for his music than faking about catching bodies and shooting people. You say that like you're so sure of Kanye's psyche and what or who he cares about. I don't understand what you're tryna say, are you saying he's racist because he shouts out Euro fashion designers? Are you saying working with Chief Keef automatically makes you fake and corny?

And you completely misunderstood that DEA x CCA line. He's saying big corporations are teaming up with prison industrial complexes and using black people for their capital. Straight from Rap Genius:

Kanye’s talking about institutional racism in the prison-industrial complex. This topic is covered in-depth by Michelle Alexander in her book The New Jim Crow.
For example, a 1991 survey, recorded by the founded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, found Black people were no more likely to use drugs than a White person. However the amount of drug arrests of blacks more than double from 1985 to 1989 and drug arrests of the white population only increased by 27%. Justice Department Statistics reports that Blacks only make up 12% of the American population but amount for 74% of those sentenced to prison for drug possession

The 13th amendment paves the way for this kind of slavery, when it states:

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.
