I hate him as a person now but back when this came out I was blown away.the whole cd actually. Dude seemed so real and humble especially cuz he wasn't trying to be hard he just spoke his life. He still does but dudes on another planet

My jaw was already dropped when the beat started and then that vocoder or whatever women voice came in and I was :merchant: At the dopeness

Ya, this album when it came out was a breath of fresh air. I want to say I had given up on rap at this point in time(02,03). But that would be a lie. I was kinda on the Kanye hype train over the "the Good the Bad the Ugly" and "My Way"("My Way" is still one of my all time favourite songs). But I still remember when I first heard this record. I will never forget when I got to..

"Well let this take away from my spins
Which will probably take away from my ends
Then I hope this take away from my sins"

And just being... :wow:

Thinking this dude is the truth. And frankly, as much as dude has gotten crazy. He still makes some good music.

He never mentioned God again which leads me to wonder if it was his gimmick like skateboarding was for lupe.

And now his blasphemous shyt like new god flow, I am a god, god level, yeezus :scusthov:

Dude, take your hate for Kanye's most recent album somewhere else. I am not a fan of Yeezus either. But this thread is not about what Kanye became, it is more about what kanye was(Jesus, Just typing that is fukking depressing). Keep it to Jesus Walks and Kanye's first album.

I just want to keep this thread about the music..

Half the songs I mentioned werent on yeezus. Just mentioning his religion angle seems to have disappeared and how blasphemous he is now. I almost made a thread on it the other day. Not super religious or anything just a random thought

Well to be fair, this song was written by Rhymefest. But damn, I just went skimming over Kanye albums and I think your right. I can find references to god here and there. But full out religious stuff, nah. :ehh:

Actually no, that is Tony Williams.

Tony is is Kanye's older cousin and one day, he was driving Kanye from the airport and was ad-libbing to an early version of Spaceship and Kanye was :ohhh:.
Since then he has been on almost all Kanye albums.

He is also the guy from "Everyday a star is born" from Jay-z ft J Cole - A Star is born.
