Yes, focusing on racism can be a distraction to focusing on humanity. We should be focused on treating each well and fairly without prejudice simply because we are humans, and that would appeal to humanity rather than appeal to race. Arguments that use race to create a standard of treatment usually pit humans against each other based on superficial observations while arguing on better treatment because we are all humans capable of the same leaves no one behind.
Well it shouldn't matter but it 100% does. Not sure about Luther countries but here white Protestants get everything, one of them goes for a job against someone else regardless if they have the same skill level the white Protestant gets it, so it matters.

I didn't read OP in its entirety but I do firmly agree with the tagline: "Racism is a distraction to humanity". We're a species living on this rock in this big, vast universe full of billions of stars and planets and yet we're overly concerned with our superficial differences? Race as biology is fictional but it's a very real societal problem which unfortunately permeates in every facet of our civilization. We humans have limitless potential and should be focused on curing diseases, space travel, unlocking the secrets of the universe through quantum physics and mathematics. If anything racism is holding back human civilization from any meaningful progress because it's a distraction.
Whenever I get pulled over by a racist cop for no reason I can do nothing but shake my head. I actually feel for the cop and all others like him for being uneducated and upholding such an ignorant and destructive ideology (black inferiority, white supremacy). Dr. King said we should judge people by the content of their character and not the color of the skin. I really wished humankind could move past this.
