Because he's a rat
I've heard that but not the details. He ratted to get home early? You think Akon would hire somebody like that tho? I know Calvin and Akon's uncle were in half way house together and that's how he linked with Akon.

So they sold rocafella for $30 mill total or just the portion they sold off in 2002?

Always felt the roc was never really a powerhouse like deathrow or bad boy in terms of industry muscle. Pretty sure if Suge sold deathrow at its height they was doing at least $100 mill, probably more. Def Jam sold for like 100 mill in 1999.

Still daps , for those 3 newcomers to the game to do what they did was no small feat.

I like where Biggs detailed what happened when he saw Jay for the first time in what I assume was 5 years or more, and he said they just started laughing......That happens with some old friends of mine,( with much less gravitas, as I am much younger, and did spend 15 years in the life with them) from time to time, but esp. two old street guys from a different era, through the deals, the prison time, the rumors and gossip, the money and bullshyt just two old friends kind of shaking their heads in awe of it all, loved that part....

Fam, I don't know how to say this without coming off disrespectfully, but please know that disrespect is not my intention when I say this. When I say herb, I'm speaking on folks who aren't cut from a certain type of cloth. Folks cut from the type of cloth that I speak of have similar experiences, lifestyles, codes, and tastes that others just can't relate to. It's innate, immediately recognizable by folks cut from a similar cloth, and unrecognizable by folks that aren't. Albums like Reasonable Doubt, The Black Album, Blueprint, and American Gangster were made to speak to people cut from this type of cloth. Albums like Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were made to sell to people that can't relate. I'll leave it at that. Peace

TBA and American Gangster:childplease:?

How the hell you gon pick those corporate "Shawn Carter" albums over Vol 1 and 2 and then act like people who liked them better just "cant relate" to the realness:banderas:.

Nah breh, cant let you write Vol 1 and 2 off as Jay trying to sell to people who cant relate, when that's the exact reason I don't like TBA like that, and I like American Gangster but we know what it was at this point with Jay....Meanwhile Vol 1 and 2 got Jay spitting that game, spitting that real shyt....Reminding me of the classic shyt we grew up too out in the bay:obama:...aint too many albums comin outta NY like those, which is why Jay the goat to me outta NY...those albums was definitely for the streets more than those albums you holding up there....you must just be use to grimy NY shyt,Vol 1 and 2 is that player shyt.

Aint shyt to relate to on TBA or American gangster, those albums is just Jay rapping...matter of fact TBA is Jay mostly asking for acceptance of people who aint even really fans, pleading his case for his legacy....that album wasn't for core Jay fans:mjcry:

vol 1 and 2>>>TBA American Gangster

Some of you too focused on the flossy, lighter aspects of Vol 1 and 2,Im turning the tables,im accusing all of yall shytting on that album of being blind to the realness:sas1:.....You don't throw the baby out with the placenta.

Yall better quit punishing Vol 1 and 2 for not being RD,which lets be honest was for NY and for the critics. Vol 1 and Vol 2 is Jay explanding his horizons.
