Maxwell wasn't the original artist? :dwillhuh:

No.

Kate Bush wrote and produced it.

anybody not familiar with kate bush catalog should get on it... she is basically the precursor to bjork (whom i know a few brehs on here are fans of) and has a gang of classic albums :ohlawd:

:wow:

Talk to em.

Björk is my number one female singer with Kate right behind her.

The Experiment IV by Kate is great. She is at her best when she is telling a story or has atmospheric tracks.

Björk's Post to Medulla album run was

:picard:

Just filthy how she put out such quality albums.

His cover was good but it wasn't as great as the original.

The same thing crazy people say about the differences between how Dolly Parton crafted and sang I will Always Love You and Whitney's version.

I don't agree at all tho.

Bush sounds like a Care Bear singing the song, while Maxwell literally sounds angelic.

Same way Parton sounds like a methed out clinger on IWALU and Whitney sounds like a golden heart literally breathing.

I used to hold to the original artist vision, but not these days.

I hear what you're saying. I don't agree about Maxwell's version being better than Kate Bush's.

However, I feel that way about D'angelo's cover of Cruisin'. I think his version is better than the original by Smokey Robinson.
