Kevin Durant: 'It's not about me and Russ'
OKLAHOMA CITY - Kevin Durant and his mother, Wanda, believe the hype surrounding Durant and Russell Westbrook has gone too far.

"It's not about me and Russ," the small forward told ESPN after the Golden State Warriors lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-91 on Wednesday. "It's about the Thunder and the Warriors. Myself and Russ are competing out there. That's part of the game. It's basketball. It's not about us. We're just playing the game, and trash talking is part of it. That's all it is."

Westbrook finished an assist short of a triple-double, recording a game-high 34 points and 10 boards. Kevin Durant recorded 21 points and five rebounds.

In his second game playing in Oklahoma City since becoming a member of the Warriors, Durant was showered with boos upon being introduced in the starting lineup, and he was booed every time he touched the ball.
I'll be glad when it's over because it's really unnecessary. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Stan KD brehs :hhh:

That he started taking before the series was over
My brain tells me it's ok
But in my soul I just feel it's some fukkboi ish

Agree bro, Like i dont hate KD at all, and i had no problem with dude leaving at all, but to join said team after blowing a 3-1 lead to them is just..........dissapointing i guess, its his choice tho i guess :francis:.....it just dont sit right with me that he is the 2nd best player in the world doing that

How can you not comprehend the point he's making? He's saying the game itself isn't about the narrative around him and Russ - the trash talking you see between them is just part of the game. He's basically saying y'all are making this Russ v. Durant shyt more of a story than it really is - focus on the game instead of the non-existent fictive between them. This is another excerpt from the article -

"I'm going to go out and compete every night," Westbrook told ESPN sideline reporter Cassidy Hubbarth after the game. "I'm coming at your neck every single night and I'm just letting him know that."

Durant doesn't have a problem with that.

"That's all part of the game," Durant told ESPN. "It happens. That's it. It should be about the game, not us."
