did you see that ninja BET performance? brehs, he can even perform live and give transendant performances. lets be real, cats like Rakim and Nas were for the longest horrible live performers. they have improved but Kendrick out the gate is a fully formed complete artist. making classic music and performing it excellently.

i was damn near in tears at his BET peroformance with Erykah.

we need a few more classic albums from him which i think he has in him, and givibg great performances. and its there for him.

I caught him live in December and it was the most enjoyable hip hop show I've been too. So much energy, and his delivery is on point. Kanye puts on a better overall performance, but K Dot was live as hell.

I would hold off on the GOAT talks until he drops another couple of classic albums though.

he gotta get past

LL Cool J

Biggie

Pac

Nas

Jay Z

Then he gotta get past West OGs...

Snoop

Thegame

Dj Quik

Eiht

thats just a small % of rappers he need to get past first

a few mixtapes and a real album is crumbs compared to the greats

lets give it 10 to 20 years then we can talk about it.

c/s. i did offer the caveat of "potential". he obviously not that now. many more stats are needed. but he is a complete artist at this point imho. if he can keep up this excellence for 20 years. we'll see.

Let's see if he stays around long enough. Will he keep dropping dope albums like Nas? Or make a couple more Hip Hop albums than "retire" cuz he "bored with rap". Let's wait it out and see.

"Classic music"?

No one but kendrick Stans will care about songs like "don't kill my vibe", "backseat freestyle", and "poetic justive" ten years from now

I attended a show in Providence where he performed back to back. I was at the first performance. He's good, but not great. I think maybe he was saving energy for the second show. It was kind of low energy and detached from the crowd.

The best performed I have ever seen live was Lupe. He came to my school and performed for 2 hours non-stop. Running, jumping, at the same time rapping rapid fire. He knew how to engage the crowd like crazy.

J. Cole is a little better at controlling the crowd.

But let me make this clear. Not a day goes by where I don't play GKMC.
