There was no juelz. She said that research points to disparities for sentences along demographic lines.
She explained it leaning no, it’s a simple yes. And as long as we have these token picks for high places there will be no changes. She will vote and move in her best interest.

He was waiting for her to fall in the trap of being branded as inherently biased (even if we know that recognizing the systemic racism in our law system is valid) against white people.

She made a statement that equates to, "Yes, evidence shows there is disparity based on race - but that doesnt mean MY underlying motivation is focused solely on that".

This is the game she has to play.

It was a trap question.
It’s an easy question. She basically admitted she’ll Bend to the will of the system. If you can’t publicly admit that the justice system is racist, despite having the highest court position in the land, what’s the point of having the highest court position?

You can't get the highest position if you admit to this BEFORE being seated as an SC judge.

We can't judge her until she's on the bench hearing cases.

Well, of course she wasn't going to say yes. She wants the job. That's why I say her becoming a Supreme Court judge will only benefit her, not black people. This goes for any black person who gets put into a high position of power in the US. The entire system doesn't change just because a black person gets a high position in it.

And this is not a knock towards any black person in such a position. It's great for them personally. It's no victory for black people.

Then these selections should stop being celebrated.

A hire that expands diversity is no good if the opinions are not allowed to be diversified.

TBA was right about her. She was selected to rep the white power structure.

This is a yes or no answer...no additional word salad is needed.
We got posts all over the coli about how you should lie on your resume, but we tripping about how she’s answering a question getting vetted with a loaded question in a country full of racists, as a minority, for a position on the highest court in the land.

None of these hearings mean anything because no person in their right mind is going to give a straight answer on a controversial topic. It’s career suicide. And the existence of systemic racism is about as controversial as it gets for a Judge in this country filled with racism.

They shouldn’t be celebrated. We celebrate too much. Haven’t we learned our lesson? We care too much about symbolism only to find out later down the road that it was just a symbol of how nothing has really changed and they’ll do anything to make you feel like you accomplished something just to shut you up.

She’s married to WM, there’s no reason to believe she cares about the plight of black people.
