hes right, so many people get caught up in not sampling because they're scared. you cant be scared to make your art, the chances are you aint making it on anyones radar to be sued.

look at the majority of sample based music that is somewhat popular now days, lets say in the boom bap lane, how many of those guys are hitting charts or making enough noise for non hip hop heads to be picking this shyt up?

even if you do, you've probably made no significant money on the track anyway so what they gonna sue for? your 100 $ made off streams?

I mean, he's right.
If you're worried about that shyt. :yeshrug:
DO NOT SAMPLE.

I worry about it and I feel my song writing is at a point where it's strong enough that
I don't really need to sample anything or anyone. I could flip some samples if I want to
but that's not my goal.
I want to write original music to the best of my ability without having to resort to samples.
So this is what I do, I'm also in a unique position.
Not everyone has a good paying job and a stable enough situation to practice several instruments,
build a small home recording studio and study music in earnest.

Many, many people are often stuck with few resources, so if you're small and you gotta flip samples
then fukk it, flip them samples playboy !!!

And when that song blows before you can get it under control you’re cooked. All it takes is the right Tik-Tok account and ya shyt is to the moon before you know what to do

all they can do is take the profits, meanwhile you got a hundred million views to work with. but if you never did the sample where would you be :jbhmm:

juice made plenty of money after lucid dreams and still is in his death 🤷‍♀️ RIP

But if they only go viral off the one song, and can't recapture or even capturean audience...they're fukked. And the sampling artist will get it all.

The views don't necessarily translate into a long-term fanbase.

then it would seem like they didn't lose anything to begin with. if i did some random remix right now, knowing i aint shyt for an artist, i wouldn't be expecting to get paid like one just because i made a remix. you gotta be realistic

Exactly. If that second record doesn't hit right away it could be over. It's like you'd have to have something you could make money off of ready immediately once you get the attention.
