Yea my grandma used to wrap up fried chicken, sandwiches, pound cake and pack water on long trips. She never stopped in small towns. She held her bladder until we reached destination. This was until she died. This wasn’t ancient history. She only died 7 years ago. My grandad traveled a lot back in the 60s-70s and used the same methods until he died as well (2009)
