They did. They gave picket valuable reps with the 1st and 2nd string over shaduer in practice even when he was injured knowing they were trading him all along. Shaduer was throwing to trash cans and janitors in practice.
They gave huntley the final 2 minute drill and benched Shaduer when they knew they were cutting him the next day.
Both picket and huntley are experienced and been in the league a few years and are known serviceable backup QB's. Teams didn't need to see any more game tape on them so there is no excuse to take valuable pregame and practice opportunities from your rookies and give them to those bums.
