As a kid, I preferred Nash/Hall over Rock/Austin (well, WCW in general over WWF, especially for the Wolfpac) until Mark Foley had his run and Hoegan made the red and black uncool. 
I mean, all four of them were over as fukk. McMahon likes to rewrite history, but the fans popped HUGE when Nash ended Whisker Biscuit's streak:

Nash was definitely top 5 most over between both companies in 1998. That being said, Austin and Rock got the biggest pops consistently from 98 forward, especially after the

Nash was big for 98 but he fell off big by 99 and 2000. Rock and Austin just got bigger and kicked the Nwo out of business.
