Kevin Sumlin Hired As Arizona's Head Coach

Arizona has reached an agreement to hire Kevin Sumlin as coach, as first reported by SiriusXM and confirmed by ESPN.

Sumlin was 51-26 in six seasons at Texas A&M. Before coaching the Aggies, Sumlin was 36-17 in four seasons at Houston, including a 13-1 record in 2011.

Texas A&M fired Sumlin after the 2017 season, when the Aggies finished the regular season 7-5. Sumlin was replaced by former Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher.

Sumlin will replace Rich Rodriguez, who was fired earlier this month in the wake of a sexual harassment allegation the university began investigating in October and a recent notice of a hostile-workplace lawsuit to be filed against him.

Why? Arizona is a great landing spot, beautiful weather, minimal expectations & he will contend in that conference with a Heisman front runner. He can stay at Zona for life...why go to the NFL and possibly get fired after 1-2 seasons?

I think the landscape is different now, his only saving grace may be beating Herm Edwards every year. PAC 12 has 3 Black coaches? That's kinda impressive.

Maybe the Arizona posters can speak on this more than I can but are Arizona Wildcat fans going crazy if you lose 5-6 games a year? If Sumlin wins 8 a year there he's good. I'd take that job in a heartbeat
