Unless they keep Jimmy and not cut him at all, I disagree that its a bungled situation. Jimmy basically has no value in the league at his contract numbers. Aint no one trading a pick AND paying him.

Nobody wanted to trade for a QB of Jimmy's caliber coming off surgery before you even know his availability

And team on the hook for a $7.5 million injury guarantee if they cut him before he pass a physical

They don't really got a choice other than wait for him to get healthy and prove he can play game 1 this year, then they can trade him for whatever they get or cut him for $0 real money and minimal cap hit
