Only if you had a losing qb and drafted a rookie. Then it’s like “we got nowhere but up”

But name another time a qb was winning playoff games, the team drafted a rookie, and they EXPECTED to be better the very next year? Mahomes and who……

I really hate how the jimmy shyt is overshadowing all the offseason talk about camp competitions and so forth.
We might have three new starters on oline, a new starting CB, new nickel CB, new starting SS...there are so many things to watch out for. And yet each podcast I watch/listen 80% of time is devoted to Jimmy

It’s easy to forget but before Mahomes took over, nobody had expectations that high for him or KC early on. They had the 14th best odds to win the SB before the 2018 season. The Chiefs were always in the playoff mix with Alex Smith starting the but they only had 1 playoff win in 5 years with him

Meanwhile with us, we currently have the 7th best odds to win the SB this year. We’re in a better spot with our roster than KC was with theirs in 2018, so expectations are gonna naturally be higher. We don’t need Trey to be Mahomes level right out the gate. If he shows that he’s better than Jimmy, we’ll be just fine. That BAR isn’t that high to clear

I'm going to name them... But let me explain my point. It's his first starting year... There's learning the playbook which Jimmy had must longer.. There's the coaches letting Trey open the playbook to it's full extent. There's "lets use the running game to lesson up his work load" type of shyt going on... There's familiarity with players that isn't on Jimmy's level. There's experience which can't be taught...

I'm sorry.. But I'm not going to just push him into more TD's and 10 wins just yet.. That's phenom territory.. Doing that in your first starting year.


But lets see.. Cowboys went 12-5 last year and Dak gonna be better. Philly upgraded like crazy. GB is GB. TB is TB. Rams and Cards are better. So ok maybe we are the 7th best.. But that means 3 are coming out of the West and that's unlikely.

But again. This isn't based on the TEAM. This is based on the most important position, having the team handed to him for the first time. Year 2 is when I'm going to start the pressure of playoffs
