This dude was brought to take the QB play to the next level specifically because Jimmy couldn't hack it, if he's just Jimmy-level play then it's a colossal disaster.

Kyle Williams fumbles the ball he is EXPECTED to catch on ST and gives an instant possession and win to the Giants

Tartt drops a pick and its still a relatively positive play on defense. Should he have caught it ? For sure. but defenders drop picks all the time. ask Asante Samuel lol

if you want to compare it to something from that Giants game its Tarrell Brown and Dashon colliding and dropping a surefire pick. Brown has to come out and Eli targets the replacement corner and scores a TD.

1. Tartt is EXPECTED to pick that ball off, it was literally the easiest interception a DB can ever make.

2. I don't consider that a relatively positive play on defense at all, the next play was a 40+ yard gain and the Rams turning the tide by marching down the field and erasing our lead. If Tartt makes that pick we pretty much win the game. It was the worst play of the day and swung the game.

we'll have to agree to disagree breh a db is never expected to make a catch, a punt returner is expected not to fumble in his own territory

I don't think he wanted Jimmy. Beli literally called up Lynch and said you can have him for a 2nd round pick. The plan for Kyle was to get Cousins, but Jimmy fell in his lap and then won 5 straight games. They had to either give him a contract that off-season or franchise him.

Get what you can for Jimmy. Use the cap savings to improve the OL and secondary. Get Deebo and Bosa paid with the bulk of the cap hit pushed out a few years.

Team should be better and deeper next year.

Trey needs to be, and should be, much better than Jimmy. He has twice as much physical talent. This system makes life easy on the QB once they have a grip on it.

Still think it was smart to sit him this year. Still gonna take lumps next year but knows the playbook and had a year to learn how to prepare at the NFL level. Bigger deal for him than someone who was a three year starter in college. Especially with a team and fanbase that expected to contend this year

so here’s a question, I remember last year during the Wentz trade, weren’t the Eagles still on the hook for his cap hit for another year as dead money? Am I misremembering or will that happen to us too?
