Im not even a CuDi fan like that, but dude's fanbase is pretty huge. He has connected to a niche section of the youth and the so-called counterculture pretty well over the years.

If you been strictly chasing The Cool, you really aint gonna see it.

Why is he sweating though?
Cudi's got a slight crossover college fanbase like J Cole, Mac Miller and Kendrick and them. Maybe even more.

Wasnt that how his second album had a strong opening week despite much lower promo compared to the first one?

He'll be alright, he needs to chill wit all that.

:ohhh:

:childplease:

are you high? day and night?

If you went to any place teens and 20 somethings frequent and yelled out " Popped a Molly,Now i'm sweating" there is a good chance somebody is gonna yell back "WOO!"

Day and Night was a big song, but :rudy: if you think it had the presence of All Gold Everything in the streets/clubs.

that's why i'm saying it's like BMF, it never even entered the top 40, but it was everywhere... like All Gold Everything.

Whats the last Cudi song that's hit as hard in the club/streets like that?

cause nobody is playing Cudi's music like that...it's not shyt they playing in the streets, it's not shyt they playing in the clubs.... when was the last time anybody heard that nikka on the radio?

how you gonna get mad that nobody is playing your music on the radio or the in the streets, when you making "sit at home in my room with the door closed cut off from the world" ipod music?

this depressed dumbfukk is the reason for his own issues with the label...he spent more time dancing in the Mercy Video, than putting out any music for hip hop fans.

Cudi doesn't make music for sheep....

So why is he complaining about his music not being played in a medium that caters to sheep?

if Cudi don't make music for sheep, then why is Cudi crying that he aint getting played to the sheeps thru the radio?
pursuit of happiness?

Nah breh...Cudi might have popular songs, but he aint never had nothing that the streets and clubs fukked with to the fullest like All Gold Everything.

So Poker Face was not as huge as All Gold Everything?

hell no, cause the actual Poker Face by Lady Gaga was 100x what Make Her Say was.

Her shyt was a #1 song and one of the best selling digital singles ever , his didn't even reach top 40.

and still, it wasn't as big in the streets or clubs as All Gold Everything....

You play Make her Say right after All Gold Everything, and the dancefloor gonna empty on some :scusthov::usure:

@MegaTronBomb! has a point. I'm a fan of cudi and im sure he's just gettin angry that he's producing, directing, performing, and wants to hear his stuff on radio and reap the profits and rightfully so. That's impressive and one of the best things you can do as an artist. But i can testify to megatron's statement that it's mostly music you sit at home to or listen to when ur with ur friends, smoke to, but not in the club. Steve Aoki did a great job remixing pursuit of happyness and the crookers with day and night to make the songs more club-sounding and playable. Hell even David Guetta did a good job with Memories. Just What I Am should get radio play and club play though, king wizard i think could but is more fitting as one of those play at home or with friends type tracks. I wanna see dude succeed but to get on radio he just has to tweak his style in such a way that would deter his core fans from him because the reason they like him in the first place is that he doesnt sound like all that other shyt

the college kids is the worst fanbase you can have. they are extremely unloyal.

Cudi is dope, but he's pretty much known as the "hook guy" by most casual fans...He's seen more as a hipster Nate Dogg, than a real super star artist....His last album was good too..Whoever picked the singles is dropping the ball if he wants radio spins though...

how come ross has no problem promoting his peoples, then? of course it's ye's job. otherwise, what fukking point is good music???

Exactly.

It is the label and the imprint's job, both of them, to promote a product their are putting their stamp on (and making money off of)

Kanye is too busy playing around at Kids R Us to help his fellow skinny jeans wearing label mate.

if his fanbase is huge, why he never went platnium? i don't like kid cudi not just because his music sucks but because he's someone who's fairly new acting like he's one of the greats. he had that attitude from the jump because day n night was hot. you'd think that with the way he was acting that he would have put out a serious first album but that shyt was trash. if his ass wants to get a little respect, he needs to humble himself. too many wannabe soliders trying to act like made bosses. they're not even solidering right either. i would show some dude some love if he wasn't coming out like he was the shyt. sure you gotta be confident but no need to act like you're the best artist that's outthere yet you can't sing or rap. dude's bytching about not getting enough spins with that wack ass "i need smoke" single. quit bytching and put in that work.

dude still holding on to that wack ass "lonely stoner" gimmick but yet he tries to make himself out to be a tough guy too. he must be on that liquid cocaine again because he can't handle the stress of the rap business. :smh: these new rappers don't get it. :snoop:

yeah, you guys can call me a hater or whatever but that's my opinion though.

Day n Nite (Crookers Remix) was very big in the UK. #2 in the charts and was always in the clubs.

You sign to Kanye for an epic co-sign and artistic support (and them ghostwriting cheques). I don't think Kanye's involved in the financial side super heavy. That has its pro's and con's. Nobody has ever accused Kanye of stiffing their money/royalties.

Cudi's not even signed to GOOD Music fo'real fo'real. It's only recently become a real label with a distribution home. Rocafella in its pomp was almost a separate record label from Def Jam and the artists didn't consider themselves Def Jam artists. If you're on GOOD you're definitely reliant on Def Jam because Kanye isn't doing your promotion/budget.

but the point remains, if your fanbase is loyal enough to get you that many views on youtube...with next to no radio play....and are pretty much a safe bet to buy the album also.... what's to complain about?

it's not that his tracks are wack, cause they're not... but they're not exactly the stuff that will fare well on the radio.

Kid Cudi fans have this borderline homoerotic obsession with him and his music.... he probably doesn't even need radio play for them to buy it.
