Came out the same day as Carter 1 then Bucks album dropped like a month later. And Buck stole the show on Beg For Mercy so he was hotter at the time.

So I fukked with it but it def got overshadowed. It's a great album tho
Banks sold more than both of those albums, he was also the best part of beg for mercy:mjpls:

Naw he was easily the weakest on Beg For Mercy and I was a big fan at the time. Just compare the solos Smile vs. Footsteps...not even close, Buck won.

And yeah he sold more, but everybody at the time agreed Buck had the better debut. And the Carter speaks for itself, we know which direction Wayne and Banks careers went after these albums dropped...

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
That the era he grew up on, it's his opinion the same way for me you can't tell me shyt about IWW because it's a personal classic
Nah.

Statement 1 said:
HFM is one of the greatest hip-hop debuts EVER!!

Statement 2 said:
HFM is one of the greatest hip-hop debuts I EVER HEARD.

These statements are not alike. At all.

Statement 1 is what this crazy nikka just actually said. Mafukka said "ever" meaning of all-time meaning better than or just as good as illmatic, The Chronic, Reasonable Doubt, Doggystyle, OBFCL, Ready to Die, and other actual classic debuts. Kind of statement that you instantly have to give the :dahell: because HFM is crazy out of place if you try mentioning in a conversation about what are hip-hop's greatest debuts.

Statement 2 is what you somehow heard. You tryna make this sound more reasonable. If he said what you're suggesting he meant, it would get more of an :ehh: because that would make more sense since this generation's music is very different compared to past eras.

lol that "for the ladies" shyt ruined a lot of careers in the 2000's. Thats not a valid excuse...

Thats actually one of the reason Buck's album was better. Banks was aiming for pop hits. Buck's shyt was just 98% hard pause...
