Kid hit by Waymo self driving vehicle

A child was hit and injured by a Waymo car near an elementary school in Santa Monica, an incident that has triggered an investigation.

It happened. Jan. 23 near Grant Elementary School on Pearl Street when the child "suddenly entered the roadway" from behind an SUV and right in front of the self-driving car's path, according to a statement from Waymo.

The child suffered minor injuries.

This technology will get better, it’s in its infancy still.

I’m not even a fan myself but, the upsides are there especially in a place like California

I'm leaning towards they will ban non autonomous vehicles off the road. If you're not in a self driving vehicle that communicates with the network you are "unsafe"...
They don't stop the technology.
They make the people a slave to it

Any car would have had a hard time stopping when a kid 'suddenly' enters the roadway from behind a suddenly. Parents weren't paying attention.
