Kidnapping Conspiracy Suspect on Run After Ex Shoots Two
Deputies are searching for Freda Lynn Lambert-Smith.
Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is searching for searching for Freda Lynn Lambert-Smith on conspiracy to commit kidnapping charges.
Deputies say she could be headed for Western NC.
The incident happened Friday night at The Villas apartment complex, on Fork Creek Road, near Asheville Highway.
Deputies say she went to a temp service in Greenville and hired two people to help her move out from her apartment.
According to the report, she proceeded to tell them she was going to play a “prank” on her boyfriend.
She took them to her ex-boyfriend’s home and told them to pretend to kidnap him and throw them in the back of a U-Haul.
The two men went along with the “prank”, but deputies say her ex pulled out a gun and shot both of them.
7 NEWS has learned the two are expected to be okay.
Lambert-Smith then fled in the U-Haul, according to deputies.
They say it was found at the Waffle House at Asheville Highway and I-26.
She was captured on surveillance video, getting out of the U-Haul and into another vehicle.
Deputies say she was last seen getting into a white, 2001 Jeep Wrangler.
They believe the vehicle has a South Carolina plate: 3389FV with an Auburn University tag on the front.
Deputies think she may be with a man they say is Victor Bain Hartley who told employees at the Waffle House he was trying to get a ride to Asheville.
Deputies are looking for Hartley to interview him.
Deputies want to interview Victor Bain Hartley. They think he may have gotten a ride with the suspect.
Deputies say Lambert-Smith should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see her or know where she is, you’re asked to 911.
Officials say Lambert-Smith is the same woman who shot her ex-boyfriend back in September, on Kaleigh Drive, in Greer.
She was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Records show she was released on a $11,000 bond for those offenses.
