On the scale of biggest offenders, especially in the age of Trump, it wasn't much to write home about. Maher's near the bottom of the list of people I need to be worried about.
...but there is a list.
I do not like him doing it, but I could see the comedic intent. The execution was just bad and thats his fault, as a comedian.
I've made it clear. I appreciate his show and I've grown watching it over the many years for his liberal politics and button pushing...but...this didn't seem well thought out.
The question for me is if we're going to be zero-tolerance about it. Cause Larry Wilmore doing that cringe-worthy shyt at the White House Press Correspondents Dinner low-key gave a lot of people passes and we didn't even realize it.
I also think Maher apologizing is wack. He should stand on it. He knew what he wanted to do and he did it. It wasn't a mistake.
