Square Enix is still keeping its cards close to its chest with official Kingdom Hearts 3information –there’s still no release date for instance - but there are some interesting snippets doing the rounds to keep us speculating, including a job opening for KH3 that refers to working in an online environment.
On a recruitment page on the Japanese Square Enix site, translated by AttackoftheFanboy, we learn that Square’s Osaka studio is looking for technical assistance on KH3. The translation, however, ends with the words “constantly online games.”
If KH3 does have an online component it would follow in the footsteps of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep which supported six players in a range of multiplayer modes, but how Square would plan to handle online in KH 3 remains to be seen.
Though Square hasn’t confirmed the existence of some kind of multiplayer component, it has in the past talked about its inclusion. Indeed, back in 2013, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura said:
"Multiplayer element is also under consideration. We are looking into the online possibilities, so with online capability in mind, multiplayer will be under consideration, as well."
At this stage, all we can be certain of is that a range of old and new characters will make the final cast, though it’s also fun tospeculate about the release dateand also discuss features that we’d like to see in Kingdom Hearts 3.
