They should have stayed independent...they would have been better off, especially as far as creative control. Now screwed and chopped music is being whored around so much people can't even notice it. From Swimming Pools to Suit & Tie. Good songs, from good artists but I'm sure you get where I am coming from.

I think Houston is going through a re-invention as far as image. It will be the younger guys that change.

First phase - Scarface, Geto Boys, 5th Ward Boyz, UGK
Second phase - SUC, Swishahouse, Boss Hogg, CCC, etc
Third phase - to be determined

I agree, they were all eating good off they mixtapes for damn near a decade but I know some them cats wanted more than just regional success.

Then it seemed like most of them stopped chopping/screwing their music to try to appease the mainstream. But thats whats made them hot. Cham is a perfect example because I thought he sounded great when screwed but I wasn't a fan of his stuff at regular speed.

Like you said, everybody screwing and chopping their stuff up now and it sucks that H-town is being left out.

:salute: Cham sounded the best screwed. I seriously think that he should have only released his music screwed...it fit him really good. He could have been the Houston version of Future, just more lyrical if you know what I'm saying. His delivery went to crap once he went major, when it was top notch before. Listening to Cham before and after he went major is like listening to two different rappers. I still bump his greatest hits mixtape :ohlawd:
