it wasnt even the money. They didn't give him enough years on the new contract so his contract would line up with Steph and Draymond's. Steph wanted the FO to do it, but Klay said he shouldn't have to do that, so he left.

That 2024 Sacramento play-in game was bad, but Klay was still pretty good that year. In fact, Klay's 2 seasons after the 2022 championship were good. The FO just wanted to move on.
