Had this thread in the oven for a few days and now it’s finally ready to post :blessed:

I can’t remember the last time so many celebrities, media and fans got behind one team! :ohhh:

Knicks are now the biggest story in the NBA and the most entertaining franchise

Every home game is a movie :whoo:

This season started out as one of the worst in NBA history and only a Luka trade kept it afloat :manny:

These playoffs have NO SUPERSTARS left. They’re all either eliminated, hurt or both.

But the Knicks are about the save the League permanently with a CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

I always thought a Knicks championship was in the leagues back pocket as a “break glass in case of emergency” type scenario

Maybe the timing is just perfect right now. Maybe it’s coincidence.

They couldn’t force it by getting Lebron or Zion.

Melo tried and failed.

But currently the Knicks are BACK on top the EAST

And we all know they’re about to beat INDIANA

So, am I crazy or is the 2024-25 Knicks this eras equivalent of the “Showtime” Lakers? :patrice:

Showtime Lakers were more defined by they're style of play. The Knicks are they're own thing. Use some creativity and leave the Lakers IP alone.

Obviously I’m not talking play style. I’m talking entertainment factor and popularity with celebrities and in the media and overall “party” atmosphere and feeling

And the whole marketability factor of the team.

I’m not making a direct comparison to either like MJ to ANT for example

I’m saying this ERA the Knicks for that “showtime” archetype

And they’re “saving the nba” if they win a championship

Knicks do bring a lot of energy and hype to the NBA. New York is arguably the biggest market. I'll never understand why big free agents or trade destinations aren't requested there. I understand the pressure, but you're basically worshiped if you're even decent. Former players have also said they spare no expense when it comes to taking care of their players. I still think KD and Kyrie fukked up choosing the Nets over Knicks.

yes...but when people talk about Showtime...they are referring to the 80s Lakers style of play. Every era of the Lakers has had celebrity fans since then. So your comparison is already off. But yeah both franchises have famous fans who love hoops and are in areas with lots of media outlets... and they have for awhile. Keep Showtime out of it.
