Knicks should do a Sign & Trade with Lin and include Amare in the deal.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The NBA is a guard driven league and Lin isn't the answer. The Knicks have 3 to 4 year window if that with Melo so they need to do all they can to put a championship caliber team together now. I would find a team that will be willing to take Lin AND Amare's contract. If pulled off I would go after Deron Williams will everything I've got. I know it's a pipe dream and won't happen but I would at least give it a shot. DWill wants to be signed by the Olympics so the Knicks need to act fast. hell... I would even try to do a sign and trade with the Nets for that matter if DWill don't want to stay. It would be a win win for both teams.

trading for amares knees at that price teams gonna be like :scusthov:

but they get a young marketing cash cow in Lin who they can build around. Not to mention said team can hire D'Antoni. If DWill opts of from the Nets, they should at least try to get something for him. Lin and Amare would be a perfect fit.

The Knicks need a PG. they haven't had a decent PG since... since.. unfortunately Marbury. and before that.. Derek Harper. Lin isn't the answer.

There's a dumb azz team out there somewhere.. 3 years left plus you get Lin which will increase your ticket sales and merchandise revenue.

If a team took the deal before the olympics that would mean not seeing lin play live ball and doing it purely for marketing reasons. So that means takings Amares bigass contract and a marketable piece that may not be able to play up to pre-injury standards. If he suck and/or gets hurt again it wont matter how asian he is. People not trying to go see him on the bench cuz he hurt or for basketball reasons.

It's not like Lin had a Derek Rose type injury. It will all be pending physicals of course.

Hindsight that Chandler signing was stupid. He didn't fit at all in D'Antoni's system. They would've been better off building like the Pacers did. They got 3 players taking up all of your cap space.

indeed that was a "look he's a free agent lets just sign him" move remind me of a Yankees signing but they don't have to worry about a cap

I think they can trade amare if they package him with a healthy lin to a team who's fanbase is :flabbynsick:. I know the bobcats could use any star power at this point to keep from getting contracted. Having lin, amare, and davis as the new face of the franchise would def get people in the seats. I dont really know the bobcats roster like that; but i'm sure they got some type of talent; and we could at least get some draft picks.

The Knicks have talent, they just dont have a coach...nor do the people running the team view winning championships as the only goal.

Unless they can significantly upgrade Lin, I dont see a reason why not to bring him back. They need a PG.

Smh so everyone in this thread is a heat spur or thunder fan???? Chandler helped shore up the Knicks d and Dantoni is a bad coach. He's rigid and didn't coach to his roster. Don't worry about the Knicks well be fine next year . We see how the heat look with no bench production and amare isn't finished so stop with this trade him nonsense.
