It's crazy cuz the west is a real dogfight, but the best teams are small markets or aren't real "basketball" towns


Indiana is a basketball city, I meet so many random people from there who dislike sports but still have a history of hooping at some point growing up because they parents are hoop fanatics.


And NYC is self-explanatory Boston and Philly are also super passionate about they squads






I don't think OKC or Minny has either one going for em.

Golden State didn't give a damn until the Steph dynasty kicked in, now they got a lil more pride

Denver ain't a hoop town

Portland probably has the most empty basket courts I've ever seen in person everybody got a rim at they house but never outside actually using it. They just attract hoopers from other places because Nike and Adidas headquarters are there corporate sponsorship town more than anything

New England alone is like 50% larger than Oklahoma and Minnesota, and counting surrounding areas with no team it's a lot more than that.

New York is New York.
Basketball places.

Then add that Celtics and Knicks are two legendary organizations with fans all over the nation.


Then you have the time zone problem too.

For a lot of folks, myself included sometimes, that later start can discourage you from even wanting to tune in cause you know how much later you will be up.

An 8pm start time means the game is done by 10:30 and I can go to sleep and get a normal amount of rest before work the next day. But when the game starts at 9pm, you gotta make a choice on if I really want to stay up till 11:30 to watch the whole game knowing I gotta get up for work the next day.

More people live out East
