I grew up loving those types of movies, book,s and television episodes, something like the classic locked room mysteries, strangers in an abandoned house mystery. This looks...ok. A little too overblown and glossy, to have dramatic tension maybe, and not funny enough to be really funny. Some great movies I remember as a kid, were Murder By Death, Sleuth, Deathtrap, anything that had that shot of the black gloved hands doing sinister things while hiding the face. The best adaptation I saw was the recent BBC 10 Little Indians, which took the material 100% serious, and made a modern horror/mystery.

As much as I hated Hereditary its possible that subconsciously i never gave the movie a chance cause every time she was on the screen all i thought about is how bad she must smell
