Obviously, she is very good at her sport, maintaining a higher ranking since she’s won her first title. However, there is some glaring weaknesses as she has been as dominant as she could be.

The announcer mentioned this during her first game against the Chinese joint as well. Stating she could improve her volley.

What parts of her game are her weakest or areas that she could improve on to become a truly dominant force? And please do not mention mental.

Why would you not mention mental when at the top levels that’s mainly what separates people??

But anyway, she needs to be in better shape. But that’s just from what I last saw from her.

Also gonna be hard since her potential era is coming off of Serena’s run, and that’s gonna be a staggering legacy to compete against even if she dominates.

Because this is the coli, where they think the athletes just turn up to their chosen disciplines and win like that because they are faster and stronger.

obviously mental is a role. I said don’t mention it because it’s an obvious retort that anyone with basic knowledge can see.

I was asking from an tactical standpoint, where can she improve.

She can improve in everything. The day she doesn't want to keep on improving is the day she should retire. And tactics comes with experience and knowing her opponents weaknesses. As you get older you worker smarter not harder.

Older Serena use to win some matches just off her sheer mentality. Yeah she had the power and athletic gifts but her will and desire to keep fighting usually broke the other girls even when Serena was still behind in the match. They knew the momentum had shifted.

nikkas didn’t offer a single useful bit of advice in here :deadmanny:
These dudes are crazy. If I was to say last year before these years playoffs, giannis is good but what can he do to be dominant and dudes just say improve her mental and mentality, that doesn’t do anything.

but if I if was to say, giannis could improve on a lot of things, but free throws would be beneficial to his game and take it to the next level; this offers a more intelligent and useful take, particularly to his game.

Would you say this to her as a coach? This is a good response.
I just asked to name some weaknesses and/or give parts of her game where she could improve. Not “bring your Mamba mentality every match”

She has to change her mind set on grass and clay. Her style of play is PERFECT for hard courts but on clay, that shyt leaves her as food when she faces someone who knows how to play on clay. Clay is a game of patience where ball bashing doesn’t translate too well. On grass, she’s just faced folks who were better and more accomplished. No shame in that. I can see her winning the French before Wimbledon but the bulk of her Grand Slams will be at the USO and Australian Open

Thank you for a real response. I understand that she considered an aggressive baseliner, correct?

correct and as with most players who train growing up in America, you don’t get much exposure and practice on clay and that adjustment is tough. She got the game obviously, but just can’t get that movement/footwork together

“Osaka has seven career hard-court titles and won four grand slams (two each at the Australian Open and US Open), but has never managed to lift a clay-court trophy.

Her best result at the French Open is the third round.

"Mentally it's a bit harder because you have to structure the points differently," she said about playing on clay.

"There are bad bounces and stuff. I get quite frustrated. So, yeah, mentally I think it's a bit more taxing.

"But I think as soon as I get that sort of block out of my mind, then I'll be more open to the mistakes.”

The lady at the olympics was staying that she need to improve her volley/net game more as she doesn’t use it at all. Is this true?

Thats a mindset. Mindset is what you need to be an elite top tier athlete. Mamba Mentality was Kobe branding a term and to psychologically phuck with the opposition. You can be the greatest athlete and be a perfect technician but if arent mentally there it doesnt matter you will fail. If you dont believe in what you are doing then all the improvements and coaching will mean phuck all.

Once athletes are in a certain stage of their careers they are already pretty much who they are as a performer/artist because theyve been doing things a particular way for so long. Then it comes down too consistency which is the mental side of the game. THey can keep on improving and get better at their technical weaknesses and make them less of a weakness. But at the end of the day its still their weakness because under pressure the mind will revert back to it being a weakness its how you overcome it.

Players who have a fully developed set of skills naturally have more confidence though.
