Kobe's offensive game back then was better than LeBron's offense even now in his advanced age. And he was a beast defensively also. At 22 Kobe was the facilitator of the Triangle, was the top perimeter defender on the team, and was the closer for the team in the 4th. Not even a fair comparison unless you watch stats over the actual games.

Kobe at 22:
Usage: 31.8
Win shares: 11.3
WS/48: .196
Value over replacement: 4.4

Lebron at 22:
Usage: 31.0
Win shares: 13.7
WS/48: .206
Value over replacement: 7.6

Different types of players playing different positions in different circumstances.

Depending on your need there's no wrong choice.
Both electric.

They won't learn. LeBron is better than Kobe at any stage of development.

He took scrubs to the Finals and had one of the greatest playoff games of All-Time. This was actually an off-year for LeBron as he battled tendinitis and other injuries during the season.

And as always the shytty Shaq clogging the paint excuse. Nobody wants to see a Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James P&R. Nobody.

Kobe wasn't no second option he led the team in shots and usage. He's the wing so he had the ball more. Shaq was just the best, most dominant player on the team.

LEBRON imo people gonna bring up shaq clogging the lane but it frees up Kobe to have free 1 on 1 matchups that he can dominate teams use to focus shutting down shaq or containing him so much that Kobe was left in great situations to score

Defensively I think Kobe was a better 1on1 defender and lebron being better off the ball

just looking at those numbers got me aggy that nikkas still use the final mvp argument to discredit Bean's first 3 :gucci:

yeah he had :shaq:

and Shaq had :childplease:

This point can't be stressed enough. Kobe was the perfect player for Shaq at that time. None of those other substitutes that people like to name like Mac or VC weren't as driven as Kobe and never had the mental makeup that Kobe had. Shaq was very fortunate to play with Kobe.

well considering Kobe put those stats up as a 2nd option:patrice:
you know what...Kobe wasnt even a second option really...him and Shaq put up the same scoring average and he shot 22 shots a game to Shaq's 19..

and to me its more telling when you put numbers like that up next to another dominant player

like, KD taking over the warriors means more to me than some nikka throwing up 30 on a shytty team

the narrative on the Kobe, Shaq Lakers is distorted ass shyt

I have my issues with Kobe stans but Kobe as a player was excellent.

As an all time player, Lebron ranks better.

But if you're asking me: Both are 22 years old, who would you rather have? I don't know that there's a wrong choice. It depends on the kind of team you want to build.

Your man couldn't even post up fukkin Klay Thompson in the Finals, as big as he is, at this late stage in his career, but he's better than Kobe was at 22? Your man was out there shooting wild ass fadeaways hoping that Kyrie would bail him out. LeBron is just more physically gifted and a much more cautious player than Kobe was. Aside from that, it's laughable to suggest a player with the flaws LeBron has is better than Kobe. Kobe was able to do pretty much all of the stuff LeBron can do on the court, but the same can't be said for LeBron.
