:dahell: this is sports. the all-time home run record in baseball, all-time scoring record in basketball, the all-time rushing record in football. all are hallowed records that are a measure of greatness.

playing for a long time at a really high level and accumulating more stats than anyone else in the HISTORY of the sport is a big deal. if Kobe gets the all-time scoring record it will be a big deal for his legacy.
true. but the decline has begun. to me he looks like 2010 kobe. still tops in the game and can still lead a team to the ring. but those finishes at the rim that used to be effortless are now alot harder. shots that never were blocked in the past are now getting blocked. guys that never used to be able to stay in front of him are now staying infront of him. playing defense also becomes a struggle most nights.

the reason i say he might not play as long as you think he will is because of how shoddy his skills still are. his footwork is still pathetic. his post game is just brute strength. if you cut off his driving lanes and close out, he doesn't have any counter moves. the best thing lebron has going for him now is that he's become a great shooter from the perimeter when you give him room. the key being he needs room. he's still terrible when it comes to hitting contested shots.

like I said I think he'll go out like A.I.

once his athleticism totally fades he'll be outta the league in the blink of an eye. i don't see him being as dominant as kobe in his mid to late 30s.

Lebron's footwork isn't as bad as you're making it. Lebron will make slower defenders look absolutely dumb if they press too close to him on the post, he has a hook from both sides, and he's still strong enough that he can probably overpower anyone 3-4 in the league that isn't Blake, West, or Gibson.

Lebron in 2-3 years will be like Kobe was in 09-11. He'll play like a top 10 player for the most part but he'll show out for big games and remind you of how good he can be.

Lebron will still be a 20+ PPG scorer in a couple of years and he'll still be able to drop 6-7 AST with little issue.

:mjlol: u think 32 year old lebron can be 2009 kobe? the dude who put up 61 in the garden.

negro please. 2009 kobe was 31 year old. had less miles than lebron. and was much more skilled. you underestimate just how badly lebron's game is dependant on overwhelming athleticism.. to me its just like AI's dependance on his first step. once that went away he was done in the league. i believe that the same will be true for lebron once his explosiveness goes. he'll become Boris Diaw minus the footwork.

With no problem. Lebron dropping 25 PPG right now and it'll probably only rise. He'll be putting up Kobe numbers with little problem. You're only looking at highs, I'm talking over an entire season.

Lebron has always been extremely consistent and I doubt that changes.

A.I. also put up 33ppg and 7apg three seasons before he was outta the league. when ya skill level ain't the GOAT, this shyt will hit ya pretty quick.

Wilt
KAJ
Oscar
Bird
Magic
Russel
Moses Malone
Karl Malone

MJ
LBJ
Duncan
Dirk
Shaq
Durant

kobe by all OBJECTIVE measures (titles, MVPs, all-nba 1st team, all-defense 1st team, scoring titles, all-time records, etc.) clearly exceeds those guys. Malone might have more MVPs, Durant more scoring titles, Oscar more triple doubles, but when you look at the totality of their resumes, none of these guys comes close.

i'm surprised you missed Hakeem (since it seems like you were just pulling as many names outta ya ass as you could). he's one of the few with a legit argument against kobe.

I wouldn't put Karl Malone, but Wade and jerry west both make a strong argument.

how? Kobe has more titles, MVPs, scoring titles, all-nba 1st team, all-defense 1st team, career points, rebs, asts, etc.

Kobe's resume is far more impressive than Wade or West. Those dudes are in class with Iverson and Drexler not Kobe.

Lebron has elite court vision, passing, and he's smart as hell. Get out of here.

Act like Lebron isn't still an elite scorer in the league. Bad Lebron is putting up Championship Kobe numbers.

reading comprehension breh. i said that is bron's future. he's still 2-3 years from Diaw status. he's got enough athleticism to still be dominant for the next 2 years. he'll start the Iverson-esque fall off a cliff around age 33.
