3 guys who got paid big bucks in the offseason and their respective teams are :trash: so far

Ya think other rising stars ,bound to get paid big soon, are paying attention to this? Possibly lead them to believe big bucks = no team success ?

I know dudes gotta get what they deserve but..........:yeshrug:

Kobe at least warrants that kind of pay day based on his resume and his continued ability to fill the seats as a box office attraction.

Heat was in a hawks/grizzlies corner where they had to pay the star or get left with nothing. And the heat are not entirely trash Just like the bulls they have had the strenuous task of playing a lot of hot western teams while Toronto cleveland and the Hawks have pretty much beat up on the weak east. Miami record can get better as they play more east teams

Now I can't defend melo. That record is inexcusable for any star in the east. You can claim he has no help but I'm sorry what is on paper in NY is still better than what milwaukee or the pacers have yet they have a better record. Just inexcusable

yeah but Miami has lost to Atlanta(twice), Charlotte, Milwaukee (twice), Indiana,

22 games in they have only played 4 premiere western conference teams

Say what you want, but the Knicks and arguably the Lakers are in good positions.
The Knicks will likely get a top 5 pick and have cap space for 2016, it's not far fetched that their 2016-2017 lineup looks like this

Chalmers
Courtney Lee
Melo
Horford
Towns

That's a ECF team

While the Lakers could wind up with a top 5 pick and they' have cap space.
The Heat are dangerously close to Treadmill status though, if they don't get any FA's in 2016.

I'm starting to doubt that ANY team with melo on it will have no postseason success
Implying Riley doesn't have his eyes locked on 2016?

Bosh shouldn't have been a max player but Miami had to do something to at least appear to be playoff threats. And if they weren't gonna give it to him we all know other teams (Houston) were ready to throw the money at him.

That sounds ok in theory. But that hypothetical backcourt aint scaring anyone. Melo will be like 32/33 by then and will have lost another step as well. And Horford isn't looking like the same player he was a couple of years ago. At least not yet anyway.

Melo has only been a conference finals 1 time
his playoff record is one of the worst in NBA history among ALL players

Everyone knows Riley is looking at 2016, but this team could be a perineal second round exit team, if we don't hit on FA.

so they shouldn't have taken what the market was willing to pay them? :childplease: ain't nobody turning down free money.
Melo is on the Knicks with Derrick Fisher as a coach, enough said.
Kobe has god knows who playing with him.
Bosh giving you what he was giving in Toronto and always gonna give you, the East is just better now.
