http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Los_Angeles_Lakers_first_and_second_round_draft_picks

look at that list since kobe joined the lakers. they almost exclusively picked at the end of the 1st and 2nd round. I see alot of quality picks for the end of the 1st round. Guys like Devean George, Luke Walton, Sasha Vujacic, and Jordan Farmar became key contributors off th bench during the championship years. I don't think you can ask for anything more than a bench player if you are picking at the bottom of the first round. We also hit on some unlikely dudes in the 2nd round like Marc Gasol and Patrick Beverly. Problem is we never kept them but traded them.

I'm looking at that list and I don't see alot of misses given where the Lakers were drafting. Not everyone can be the Spurs and get HOFers at the bottom of the first and second round.

exactly

Plus Devean George sucked. Most Laker fans couldnt stand him

did Kobe beg for a contract extension?

are Carlos Boozer and Jeremy Lin HOFers?

Who is the equivalent of Malone/Payton/Kobe on this Lakers team for Kobe to pass too?

Kobe didnt have to beg for an extension. They gave him everything he asked for. If the Lakers had turned the tables on him and started catering to the younger star (Dwight) things might not have gone as smoothly.

Boozer and Lin aren't HOFers, but Payton and Malone weren't playing like HOFers either when they were 40 years old and playing for cheap. Boozer and Lin are pretty :weirdo: but they can make some shots and offensively, I don't think they're much of a step down from what Payton and Malone in wheelchairs were.

If leadership is about not trying to break the bank and not calling for the ball every time down court, his play this year is extremely suspect. In his defense, I don't think he has even pretended he gives a fukk about winning or leading this team anywhere at this point.

And Carlos Boozer is one of the most important players on this one :skip:

But honestly, Boozer is a fakkit jumpshooter that can't play defense but he is still shooting 49%. Passing to him will yield assists.

Thing is 40 year old Karl was 2x the player as boozer
He played two ways and helped guard some of the greatest pfs in nba history several times through the season and playoffs with a bad knee

What does defense have to do with the argument that Kobe shouldn't pass?

Get underpaid and exploited by arbitrary rules in a non-free market as a rookie
Ge gipped out of millions in the prime of your career when you get a contract extension far less than your value
Reach free agency in year 8, look for big bucks and get called a traitor for leaving or greedy for taking the max contract
Get accused of being :flabbynsick: by the media and "sources" in the NBA of not being worth it

Stupid people eat up because they don't understand what Pro Sports markets are

An industry dominated by black men gets a rep for having a lot of overpaid players even tho cats don't know what the value of dudes like Kobe is

Watch muppets repeat it to diminish the value of the people that are the product so billionaires can be protected from themselves and fall for silly shyt like competitive balance and small markets need help lies
