I wonder how Kobe's go-hard-on-both-ends style would translate to today with the high intensity, the 3-point fast break and all that.
Playing hard defense is exhausting but you get to rest with relatively slow offense, now if your shyt is like hockey the way it is today, you might have to prioritze differently. Of course he's an all-time great so he'd adapt, but how is an interesting thought

“Kobe’s defense, to be accurate, has faltered in recent years, despite his presence on the league’s all-defensive team. The voters have been seduced by his remarkable athleticism and spectacular steals, but he hasn’t played sound, fundamental defense. Mesmerized by the ball, he’s gambled too frequently, putting us out of position, forcing rotations that leave a man wide open, and doesn’t keep his feet on the ground.”

Phil Jackson 2004 book, his own coach calling out his defense in the middle of his prime :scust:
