Shocked, they even performed. IIRC, the way their contract is set up, any time they perform any of those songs, they have to pay Keith

EDIT: I'm mistaken...it wasn't Keith. He just promoted them. It was Sylvia Rhone, their record label head.

brief cliffs:
Keith Sweat didn't put the group together however he did put them on. Tabitha and her boyfriend who was 17 years older than she was put the group together. They used to be assistants for Babyface.
Keith and Sylvia Rhone started falling out and the group got pushed to the back burner. It was obvious Keith and the label were more interested in pushing Athena and at 1 point tried to replace the other 2 members.
Athena toured with Keith and they released a duet.

Their advance was for $1 and any money they were able to make half of it was taken by the label. They were locked in the record deal and the label would not release any music or release the group from the label.
They had to get regular jobs to support themselves.

EDIT: you know you hear about how evil and predatory male music execs were/are, but if you dig, you'll see Sylvia Rhone was just as cruel and predatory as her male counterparts...but no one says shyt about her and Clive Davis to a certain extent.
