Kentucky has one of the most corrupt legislature’s in the country. Conservatives love corrupt disgusting grifters and the state is one of the least educated and most unhealthy in the union. Perfect place for someone like Bevin to swoop in and just copy Trump at a state level. He also pardoned a convicted pedophile who raped his step daughter

Said it in another thread. It’s not a coincidence that the poorest, sickest, most violent, most corrupt, and dumbest states vote red. Any time you hear someone argue both sides or why not vote for these guys, just point to the state that all the southern states are in. Third world levels of corruption.

Most of the lucky 428 singled out by Bevin were non-violent. When the Courier Journal came to analyse the beneficiaries of his largesse, the paper found that 336 of them were on non-violent drug sentences.
But therein lay another discrepancy. Within that group, 95% were white. That’s in a state in which 20% of inmates on drug convictions are African American or from some other minority community.
The newspaper calculated there were almost 1,000 black or other minority prisoners who would have qualified for Bevin’s largesse. He chose 16.
