Legit wild how people think a COMBINE measurement is incorrect.
Some posts going on.
Yea he's got the Peyton Manning thing going on.
As far as the 40....Lamar Jackson didn't run last year and still torched teams with his speed. He bulked up as well from his normal college playing weight.
Some guys really need time to adjust to running a that added weight. He'll be running past people in the fall.
It's not necessarily about him not being able to throw, its about the strategy behind it breh.
When he HAS to line up in the shotgun, and he HAS to roll outside his tackles, and his playcaller HAS to call certain plays for him...you're giving yourself away as an offense.
If I'm a D end I'm playing wide and going outside the tackle on every single play. If I'm a linebacker I'm playing behind his crossing routes (because his passes that are "a little higher" are going to go over his guys' head when he's under pressure and that's an easy interception) etc....
The thing is...inaccurate QB's can get more accurate. Dumb QB's can study and learn. Fumbling QB's can throw it away etc...he's never going to get taller. What is his GM going to do in 4 years when he still can't throw across the middle and teams straight up quit covering those routes?
The hate for kyler is disgusting
Bout to be drafted top ten in two professional sports leagues why tall nikkaz squeeze into a little chair in front of a cubicle
I think what makes him appear shorter is he has short limbs and a big ass head.
He'll be 5'10-5'11 in cleats. He'll be fine.
I think he has the athlete and pro sports guy thing down. He'll be okay.
If this was the 80s or 90s, I might be concerned. Modern NFL, Kyler will thrive if he's in a solid system with some talent.
He's less than an inch shorter than Russell Wilson and 2 shorter than Brees
There's NFL QB's who are in shotgun 90% of the time but it's gonna be "giving yourself away as an offense" for Kyler
His height deficiencies will be covered with big body recievers and a HB that can catch. He's a explosive athlete, great IQ and touch. 90% of the teams anyway are running out of the gun, and calling run plays out of the gun.
You as a D end running outside aint catching brodie though.
Every QB has designed plays for them regardless of height. (Hell, we got a 6'5 250lb scrambler to prove it). Bruh can ball, and if he's already 207, he's gonna to be aight
Inaccurate QBs DO NOT just become more accurate. If you were inaccurate in college, you will be inaccurate in the pros. That rarely changes. QBs dont suddenly become accurate....even Cam who is a success is still pretty damn inaccurate after how many years
Also there are tons of teams that operate almost exclusovely out of the shotgun and do just fine so why would it be a problem for Kyler
Brees's offense was primarily run- based this year and last because his receivers outside of Thomas are doodoo. But unlike Kyler he doesn't REQUIRE the shotgun to operate, so he can use Play-Action to get favorable matchup in the secondary.
Likewise for Russell. Run based offense, depends on play action.
Both of those guys have shown that with no run game they have to run for their lives, throw a bunch, and end up losing.
We have no idea if Kyler can run a run-first offense and kill teams out of play-action because so far we've seen that he HAS to be in shotgun.
Thats a huge red flag if I'm a GM trying to win a Super Bowl.
Come on breh...DE's caught Cunningham, they caught Vick, they caught Cam, Lamar last year and they'll catch Kyler.
Russ already showed that no matter how brilliant you are, running for your life and running bootlegs on every play DOES NOT WORK...if Kyler can't stand in the pocket and hit crosses, check downs, and underneath routes he'll be out of the league in 4 years.
Completion percentage can absolutely increase as your career goes on. Decision making can improve as your career goes on. Kyler aint growing 4 inches taller bro
Also what team that went deep in the playoffs this year operated exclusively out of the shotgun?
The Chiefs....that got shut out in the 1st half?
Yea he has a head/body ratio of a little person. I’m convinced he’s 5’10, the combine doesn’t lie
It shouldnt matter at this point. If he is 5'8, so be it. 5'9, so be it.
Guys the same height he was throwing over in college went to the pros, so he will be throwing over them in the NFL.
People always look for some reason to discredit someone. Let his play speak for itself.
He gon be good! Easy to see that from the film and the games
Height be damned, some folks just have it
Kyler bout to go number 1 and sign a 35 million dollar deal with a 25 million dollar signing bonus
