Why is anyone asking the mayor of Los Angeles about reparations at an event that is a meet and greet? When did we start asking mayors about reparations? How does that even work? Politics in this country has become such a joke.

These weirdos are misguided....at least the people who really be down Leimert will press them black talking heads who call themselves "representatives"...he was quite turned down.
in terms of reparations for blacks in LA specifically, dude could've asked about pressing the issue for all the blacks who lost their homes/land when they built the freeways, specifically the 105 and 405....because that's a topic that's been raised and caught a good amount of traction since the descendants of Bruce's Beach got their land returned ( and then sold back for next to nothing )....and that's something she can do something about.
But recently, reparations for blacks in California got shut down....Dude should be pressing all the black reps who went against SB 1050 and Gavin Newsom.

The event was not a meet and greet for the mayor of Los Angeles, the event at Leimert Park was a Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth has ties to slavery of FBAs (Freeman) in the USA, so that question was appropriate for that time. Questions being asked to mayors regarding reparations has been going on for a while, Mayor Monroe Nichols of Tulsa did, but it's for housing assistance, scholarships and economic development, not cash payments.
